How this estimate works
Each quantity comes from a stated rule of thumb applied to your answers. For a typical factory, machines or control panels (5 control panels, 10 machines, 20 motors), these are the rules and the items they point to:
- NR-4x200 Harness tie, 40 lb, 7.9 in, 3.5 mm wide
- Door harnesses and bundles outside the wire duct: 150 per panel
- NR-8x300 Heavy-duty nylon tie, 120 lb, 11.8 in (300 mm)
- Machine cable runs: 60 ties per machine
- NR-1/2R R-type cable clamp, 1/2 in (12.7 mm) cable, 12 mm wide
- Clamping runs to machine frames: 20 per machine
- NR-TM-25 Adhesive tie mount, 25 × 25 mm base, 6.2 mm tie slot
- Adhesive tie mounts: 30 per panel
- NR-CT15.8 Corrugated conduit, 12.0 mm inside dia., 15.8 mm outside dia., 100 m roll
- Corrugated loom on exposed machine runs: 40 ft per machine
- NR-SWB-12 Spiral wrap, 12 mm outside dia., 9 to 65 mm (0.35 to 2.6 in) bundle, 10 m roll
- Door hinge harness wrap: 10 ft per panel
- NR-DRS-6 Heat shrink tubing 2:1, 6 mm (1/4 in), 100 m roll
- Sensor splices and repairs: 5 ft of heat shrink per machine
- NR-RV5.5-6 Ring terminal, 12 to 10 AWG, 1/4 in stud, yellow
- Motor terminal boxes: 4 ring terminals per motor (3 phases and ground)
- NR-RVS2-5 Ring terminal, 16 to 14 AWG, #10 stud, blue
- Ground and shield terminations: 20 per panel
- NR-E1008 Insulated ferrule, 18 AWG (1.0 mm²), 8 mm pin
- Control wires landing on terminal blocks: about 290 per panel (1.3 per I/O point, plus 30)
- NR-E2508 Insulated ferrule, 14 AWG (2.5 mm²), 8 mm pin

We add 10% for waste and offcuts, round up to whole packs of 100 and whole rolls, and show a low to high range because real jobs vary with routing, spacing and spec. Your drawings and spec sections beat any rule of thumb: send them with your quote request and we'll price from them.
